Woman Can’t Believe What She Finds Husband Doing in the Kitchen: ‘Jail’

A woman caught her husband eating a cake in an unusual way, and joked he deserved jail time as punishment in a viral video.

Megan Sheley (@megansheley), a recipe developer from Minneapolis, walked in on her partner ravaging an entire tres leches cake with a fork—without attempting to slice the cake first.

“Straight to jail,” Sheley wrote on the caption of the video that captured the moment she caught him, with the clip garnering 125,600 likes and 910,900 views on TikTok.

Footage showed the man mercilessly devouring the cake, leaving a large peculiar circular shape, that almost resembled a bite mark.

A tres leches cake is a traditional Latin American dessert consisting of a sponge cake soaked in three kinds of milk: evaporated milk, condensed milk, and heavy cream. The result is a moist, sweet cake that is often topped with whipped cream and fruit.

In the video’s comments, Sheley revealed the cake was from Cafe Latte located in St Paul, Minnesota.

While tres leches cake is a favorite in many Latin American countries, Minnesotans prefer a different kind of indulgence. The most popular cake in Minnesota is chocolate lava cake, according to an article from Eat This, Not That! This dessert, known for its gooey, molten center, is especially beloved in colder climates for its warm and comforting qualities.

This finding was based on analysis of Google search data, highlighting regional preferences for different cake types.

Sheley exploded into laughter at what she witnessed, and viewers on TikTok were also hysterical.

“It’s the best realizing you’re an adult and can do whatever you want,” said one iser.

“Tres leches from cafe latte….. I get it lol,” said Donna Leigh.

“He definitely had the ambition to destroy it all,” said another user.

“I actually think that’s OK because I want the berry part with the frosting on the edge,” said Erin Marie.

“That is not jail. That is king behavior. Recognize,” said Katie.

Toks David, a food writer for Dine Surf, wrote an article on cake etiquette. She recommended to start by using a fork to cut a manageable slice. If the cake is particularly rich or dense, it might be easier to use a knife to cut a piece.

According to David, it’s best to eat cake slowly, to appreciate the textures and flavors. She advised to take small bites to savor the flavor, allowing yourself to fully enjoy its taste. For a more refined experience, diners could consider pairing their cake with coffee or tea.
